Student Visa Options
Migration for those who wish to study in Australia
The student visa is available to all applicants who wish to study in Australia. However there are eligibility requirements for each student visa and there are also assessment levels (1, 2 and 3) for every country depending on the level of perceived risk to Australia.
Training & Research – Subclass 402
This visa option allows you to take part in work place or professional development training or for research to enhance your skills. There are three streams for you to apply under depending on what you want to get out of the visa. This visa allows you to travel to Australia and stay in Australia for the duration of your training / research and also travel to and from Australia for the duration of your visa or until your training / research is completed; whichever occurs first. Student Guardian – Subclass 580
This visa option is for a guardian of an international student who is under the age of 18 years who is studying in Australia on a student visa. To be eligible for this visa you must be aged over 21 years, be the parent or legal guardian of the student or a relative who has been given consent by the parent of the child. ELICOS – Subclass 570
This visa option is for people who want to study an English Language Intensive Course (ELICOS) on a full time basis in Australia. The visa also allows you to stay in Australia for the duration of your course. To learn more, check out our info pack.
